I have quite a few 22 rifles. The oldest made in the WWII era and the newest is a REM 597 that I got 8 months ago. I have five Winchester Model 190's. Two are deluxe models. The reason I love the 190's so much is because when I was 13, I mowed lawns for money. I saved up $50 and I went down to the good ole neighborhood hardware store and bought me a 1967 Model 190. I still have that gun. It is one of my prized possessions. I had a gunsmith go through it and it works flawlessly. I am always on the lookout for a good buy on an old 22. I think the 22 is an absolute must have rifle and I think you should have a good 22 handgun as well. I have a Ruger MKII. I can't even guess how many squirrels and rabbits I took with my 190 (and other 22's).

Any of you other guys collect vintage 22's?

I got a 1947 Colt marksman II .22. It is a sweet shooting pistol.
